Woodcroft Cottage and Stable Cottage , 23 Midton Road , Ayr , South Ayrshire, KA7 2SF

Description of the self catering

Woodcroft Cottage and Stable Cottage are charming dwellings fashioned from a 100 year old stable block. They are within a walled garden adjacent to the owners’ honey coloured sandstone town house. With lots of space in the drive for carriages to turn, there is ample parking space. The private, peaceful, and pretty cottages have no steps and could be considered by the partially disabled. They have an enviable position in the town of Ayr - a stone’s throw from the centre, yet in a peaceful residential tree lined road. Inside Woodcroft Cottage you will find a large master bedroom with queen size bed and a smaller twin bedded room with picture window onto the garden – all beds have top of the range mattresses, specially selected by the Physiotherapist owner to suit all. There is a mix of down & non allergenic pillows for choice. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath. Drawing room has 2 sofas (2 seater + 3 seater) with a higher easy chair; fireplace with gas fire; TV & radio. The kitchen has 2 windows overlooking the garden. It is fully equipped with dining table for 4/5; washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave etc. There is also a utility area and conservatory. There is full gas central heating. The enclosed walled cottage garden has lots of all year round colour. There is a patio with large garden table, chairs seating 8 and a barbeque. All this can be viewed from the conservatory.

Best Features

The best features of these properties are comfort and the joy of a being set in a beautiful well kept garden. The cottages are a short walk to everything anyone requires for a fine holiday.

All modes of transport are within minutes by foot. Prestwick airport is 15 minutes by car. This makes reaching many areas in the middle of Scotland very possible in a day trip.

There are 3 very fine eating places within 5 minute walk abolishing the risk of drinking and driving and of course Ayshire is the home of some of the world’s best golf courses including: Royal Troon, Old Prestwick and Turnberry.

Walks galore! Beach, rocky coastline, harbour, and inland river or rolling farmland all offer superb and interesting scenery and you can find isolated areas where bird life is breathtaking.

Up and down the coast there are lots of towns and villages; Glasgow is less than an hour away.

Cottage Review:

Another visit to Ayr,Scotland, and another great experience and welcoming atmosphere. A suitably equipped and spotlessly cleaned cottage. The back garden was my Shangri-la, epecially the camellias in full bloom. Very quiet place, coveniently situated close to the town centre. The beach is within walking distance.

Make up of party:  Annie, the owner, is a lively and charming personality and great to have a chat with, not to mention the occasional glass of wine at sunset!
