This property is outstanding, excellent facilities and gorgeous views. We loved the option of bedroom layouts so we could arrange exactly how we wanted the sleeping arrangements before we arrived and the beds were so comfortable. nice large kitchen with every thing we needed. Jack and Sean (donkeys) were a welcome sight every day. Welcome pack a lovely touch too. Cant wait to go back.

We stayed at Colehouse for a family gathering last month.

What a gem of a place it is! Set in beautiful Devon countryside, the farmhouse was an ideal location for us and was suitable for all party members - aged from 20 months to 83!

Well equiped and spotlessly clean, the property had many nooks and crannies where guests can escape from the rest of the group should they wish (ours is a noisy family, and the escape area between the kitchen and utility room was a welcome retreat at times!)

We made good use of the quiet roads and bridlepaths on the doorstep of the property, and made the 40 minute trip to the other side of Exeter for a wonderful session on Segways in the lovely Haldon Forrest. Another 'must' is a trip to the Duke of York in Iddesleigh and the Red Lion in Exbourne - both 10 minutes away and serving great ales and good food.

The view from the kitchen sink means there's never any shortage of kitchen volunteers!

Top marks to Colehouse!

Beautiful rustic cottage with bags full of charm. This was our second stay and we cannot wait to go back. We stayed with a group aged 1-80+ years and it was suitable for everyone. There was ample space for everyone to sit together and lovely little nooks to get some privacy. Lots of lovely country walks and the children enjoyed playing in the well kept gardens and meeting the donkeys and chickens.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Colehouse Farm. The location is idyllic in the middle of quiet and beautiful countryside. The cottages are equally beautiful. They have been restored with care making for an extremely comfortable stay. The owners have ensured that they are stocked with everything you could possibly need. Finally, Gavin and Louise are extremely helpful and thoughtful.

Make up of party:  I took 9 friends from London down to Colehouse farm. Both those originally from the country and those from London loved the cottages.

Beautifully appointed and looked after. Absolutely everything met or exceeded expectations. Owners were charming and helpful. Long haul to the supermarket so we arranged for a Waitrose delivery and that worked well, though the driver seemed to get as lost as we did when trying to find the place!

Would definitely go back.

Make up of party:  family with friends staying in adjoining cottage. Worked brilliantly!

The farmhouse is just as described on their website, set in a quiet farmyard in lovely countryside. They have thought of everything that you could imagine to ensure you have a peaceful and easy time whatever the time of year. Location is perfect for seeing North Devon and the Moors. One of the best cottages we have booked! The guestbook was full of compliments so the standards are consistent - book it with confidence.

lovely cottage, in beautiful setting. rooms are spacious, and the kitchen had everything I wanted. We enjoyed visiting Bude and Bideford, and the meals at the Duke of York pub are good value. We look forward to coming back.

Cottage Review:

We had dreadful weather, rain, lots of it and floods, none of which affected the cottage which stayed warm and dry. Beautiful views from the kitchen across fields and a visiting fox gave us a long look before wandering off across the fields. The cottage is first class in all departments and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Make sure you get directions from the owners before you depart as most sat-navs don't know where it is!! We would return if we are planning another holiday in the area.

We had a short break over Christas. The cottage was excellent, really warm and cosy, well presented, and very quiet. We would go back again tomorrow. Also, the welcome pack of goodies was incredible - loads more stuff than we expected (unless it was just a Christmas special!)

Didn't have fancy facilities but the important ones (kitchen etc) were just what was wanted.
