Just spent an unforgettable Christmas at Upcott with all the family. The house is outstanding suitable for grand occasions but equally family friendly so we all felt at home. Very well equipped kitchen and spacious rooms with a lovely Christmas tree in the bay window. Stunning views from inside and out with a great terrace where we enjoyed mulled wine on Christmas Eve. The house was beautifully warm but also had a good wood burning stove for a cosy feel. [Added at Editor's discretion since it appears to be a helpful review and the reviewer has been authenticated]

Upcott is a fabulous house in a beautiful location - the views from the house are stunning. The kitchen is very well equipped, bedrooms all spacious, great bathrooms and a cosy lounge/dining area. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful with plans for a birthday celebration at the house.

A perfect house for a get together in summer or winter with great walks on the doorstep.

we would definitely recommend and would love to return!

Make up of party:  A 50th birthday celebration with 8 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 10 year old and a baby. All well catered for - great to have the seperate nursery and all baby equipment provided.

Really loved the house, it was an older period than the modern design suggests in pictures, which we really liked and thought the decoration was fantastic. All rooms were very good sizes, and many had some very nice features. The grounds were lovely with great views, and the new patio area meant we had a bbq both days and really enjoyed being outside. The walk into Beer was picturesque, if a little steep for some of our party, but we managed it and felt the effort was deserving of an English breakfast on the beach both days! The one and only slight downside is that one couple had to take the downstairs twin room, which would be better made up as a double bedroom as we didn't feel comfortable with children sleeping downstairs by themselves.

A most beautiful house in a superb location. The magnificent weather enabled us to maximise the use of the front garden and patio, views that will remain with us forever. The accommodation was perfect for a whole family "Retirement" celebration. The size of the house provides escape, whilst its design enables togetherness. Perfect in every way.

We have had a truly memorable week in this very stylish and comfortable house. It was all that we had expected from the web site pictures and the spaciousness was a joy. The dog was in seventh heaven too, with all the family under one roof. Waking up to wonderful sunrises was a bonus for February and no snow, either! The younger members enjoyed some very challenging walks and the not-so-young some very cosy pubs. One particular one in Chideock called The George, is recommended. We felt so at home we didnt want to leave and now we need another major event to celebrate so that we can come back. back.

Make up of party:  Three generations to celebrate an 80th birthday, the youngest 16, plus one 2 year old, very well-behaved dog.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Upcott House.

The house was a perfect size for our group, big enough to give everyone a bed room and space whilst not being too big that it was unfriendly. The views were amazing, the children toys and facilities much appreciated, and the beds extremely comfortable. The welcome book which detailed local walks and attractions was very helpful and let us explore the surrounding area - The River Cottage Canteen in Axminster and Mason's Arms in Branscombe are both a must.

We booked Upcott as we were off to River Cottage HQ for Dinner & Sunday course.

What a fantastic house, everything was to a high standard. The walk to Beer was just enough for the little one & the Anchor pub was the perfect watering hole.

Everyone loved the house, location, facilities & most of all the food & drinks! Many thanks to Mal & Liz for having such an amazing home. we will be returning soon, thanks again. Our family of fourteen plus one dog have just spent Christmas at Upcott House, we had a fantastic time in a really perfect property which is situated in a beautiful location.

The bedrooms are beautifully furnished, with great views, the bathrooms are all well presented and also very warm, the two sitting rooms were a real bonus and the kitchen very well equipped.

The area is delightful, beach walks, hill walking, river side walk at Colyton, visits to Beer, Lime Regis and Sidmouth were all included in our holiday.

I would not hesitate recommend this property to any family or large group.

Make up of party:  We were a family two grand-parents one aged 74, three sons and daughters-in-law, six children aged six months to seven years, plus one active dog. The dog was kept in the laundry room, using a tall child gate to keep her in, it worked perfectly.

The house is decorated and maintained to such a high standard, we felt at home right from day one. All our guests just loved their bedrooms and we were proud to show them around. The kitchen and utility facilities were all top standard and easy to use and we enjoyed some lovely celebratory dinners at the long dining table. The views were amazing - topped off with a top class show of dolphins while we relaxed on the veranda and the weather was generously kind to us.
