Description of the cottage holiday
Getting to Townhead Cottage is an adventure in itself. From Pooley Bridge, at the northern head of the lake, your drive follows the eastern edge of Ullswater, squeezed between fell and lake shore, with glimpses over the water. At Howtown, the road becomes a winding lane rising steeply over fern covered fell slopes, then descending into the tiny hamlet of Sandwick. The cottage is at the foot of Sleet Fell, looking over Sandwick Beck to Hallin Fell where, from the door, a short walk north takes you to Sandwick Bay and the waters edge.Sleeps: 2
