The Wheatsheaf, Bakers Mill Farm Holiday Cottages, Mosterton, Beaminster, Dorset, DT8 3JD

Description of the holiday cottage

This Dorset holiday cottage sleeps 2 plus cot in a large bedroom with super-king size bed and en-suite bathroom. The kitchen, dining and living area is open plan, with back door to the enclosed lawned garden at the rear, where a picnic bench is provided for al-fresco dining. The cottage is deceptively light and airy due to its dual outlook and vaulted ceilings. This self-catering accommodation is all on one level.

Best Features

Situated on a 17th century working farm our self-catering cottages in Dorset have been carefully restored from an old barn and farm buildings. They comprise a barn conversion and four cottages, along with stable and a games room, surrounding a courtyard featuring a rill culminating in a small wildlife pond. The cottages are finished to a high standard, suitable for year round occupancy, and furnished with all the required facilities for daily living. The setting is very peaceful, being in a valley amongst the rolling hills of West Dorset, yet only a short distance to the village with its local amenities of shop, post office and pub. There is plenty to do in the area, including walks from the door, to visits to stately homes, gardens, exploring the Jurassic coast and the many historic towns and villages.

Cottage Review:

Most well equipped cottage I have ever stayed in, little things like soap, sandwich bags and cling film were all provided. The cottage was perfect for dogs and we saw badgers, foxes, barn owls, deers and bats from the garden. Lovely peaceful location, would recommend Bakers Mill, was sad to leave.

Make up of party:  A couple in Wheatsheaf but my sister had Millers next door and my mum had Cobb. All 3 cottages fantastic.

Cottage Review:

This has been our fourth visit to the cottages and as always clean and well equipped. We have stayed in the Harvest Cottage, The Millers Cottage and twice The Wheatsheaf and all these cottages are excellent with very comfortable beds. The location is very peaceful and relaxing. The dog friendly cottages are close to excellent walks. Would highly recommend it and hopefully be back next year or even this, if I can persuade my husband.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you had a good time and found the property very suitable for a large party. We are still improving facilities for large bookings, making it easier to entertain in the games room too so your response is very helpful. I hope you will visit again, either for another large gathering, or as individuals. Karen.

Cottage Review:

This is our fourth stay at Bakers Mill Holiday Cottages . We have stayed in

The Cob, Thresher's Barn ,The Granary and lastly The Wheatsheaf.

The cottages are in a lovely peaceful location and yet close to Crewkerne and Beaminster and of course access to the Jurassic Coast. The cottages are dog friendly and our dogs always have a lovely time here. The cottages are clean and tidy and well looked after. The owners and housekeepers are very friendly.

I would highly recommend any of the cottages at Bakers Mill .
