Cottage Review:

We were dismayed to read the first review only 5 days before we were due to stay at the Old Dairy and contacted Coastal Cottages immediately to allow them to address the issues, which to be fair they did. The smell of effluent had been caused by a missing trap which had been replaced, the other items all worked. The only problems we had all week were the main door key didn't work well and the kitchen bathroom didn't drain well. A builder was dispatched to look at these the same morning I reported them. Otherwise we had a lovely week, despite the wet weather. We liked having the snug for early risers and the comfy sofas around the fire were very welcome. I do agree however that the gardens aren't dog safe when your dog is a chaser. It would have been nice to have a more securely fenced area so we could let ours off her lead to play. Also more locks on the bottom half of the barn doors would have stopped the escape attempts. All in all a beautifully furnished and very comfortable cottage in a great location which we were loathe to leave.

Cottage Review:

Unfortunately I experienced many issues with this property's facilities including the washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, upstairs heating, a broken infants cot and a missing sewage trap in one of the bathrooms which lead to the one bedroom (and bathroom itself) being unusable as it smelt of effluent. The management company (coastalcottages) weren\'t particularly helpful when informed, even though our holiday was marred by this. In addition, this cottage has very close surrounding properties (the manor house can be seen on rhs photo) which are undergoing long-term extensive renovation causing loud construction noises such as digging, hammering, angle grinding etc, which meant we left our holiday early. Can dog owners please be aware that although the owners allow a well behaved dog inside some areas of the cottage, the surrounding grounds are not dog safe-despite also being recommended in the Woof Guide; a problem if you want to let the dog off the lead as well as the nearby construction sites.

Cottage Review:

My husband, my son and I stayed here the week beginning 5th May. Having read the previous review, I am astonished.

We loved this property- it has been beautifully renovated, tasetfully furnished, spotlessly clean, everything worked and with the most beautiful garden and pond. It is wonderfully located for beaches and trips to skomer. It was without doubt the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in and we are planning a return next year. The visitors book is awash with glowing praise for this property without a single negative entry. I must also add our two dogs enjoyed the run of the gardens and field- it is almost 1/2 mile from any road in a very rural location and was entirely dog friendly and safe.
