Upon arrival we realized some of the photos don't do this place justice. The rooms are so spacious. Sharon was helpful when required as some of the facilities took a bit of getting used to ( that might just be my age) . Tv , heating and appeared to be more light switchs than lights . There was 6 of us all adults which allowed each couple to have their own washing facilities but the split bed room with the single bed could easily accommodate adults as well . The kitchen, dining, and living areas are all both practical and comfortable. This is a holiday home you can really feel comfortable in ,very stylish but not at all pretentious

Beautiful, spacious comfortable cottage in a lovely location. Had a wonderful week here finding plenty of things to do within a short drive. Pub down the road serves lovely food (and the takeaway fish and chips are good too). My only down point is in the middle bedroom, there are no blinds on the velux windows so it was bright enough to wake my partner and toddler at 4am, but this shouldn't detract from anyone staying here, it's really, really lovely!

Cottage Review:

We stayed here for the 2016 Christmas period. The weather was blustery and the cottage was situatiated on the outer perimeter of Grantley where it was quite exposed. Word of advice- arrive before it gets dark. We arrived at the farm gate in pitch dark without a torch in stormy rain and found great difficulty in locating the key safe. I needed to ring the owner twice as we drove up the track. When we eventually opened the door the cottage felt cold and uninviting but after switching everything on we were able to appreciate the full quality of the accommodation. The owners had left us a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree in the dining kitchen which was a lovely festive gesture.

Sallys Barn had everything we required for our Christmas break. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped with mod cons, and spaciously laid out so that our party of six never felt on top of one another.

The two children loved their room with the mezzanine floor and took it in turns to sleep on the top floor. Our room was at the back and although the heating was on, because it didn't catch the sun, it was quite cool in the mornings.

The cottage is very well situated for all the major local attractions and if you like a beautifully clear, star lit walk, the local pub is well worth a visit. The hospitality of the landlord and his wife was second to none and the food was delicious.

We were sad to leave at the end of the week although I am pleased that we were ready and packed for 10am departure as the cleaners were sitting in their car outside ready to take over on the minute.

This was a lovely place to stay. We were a family off 7 from Australia, Amsterdam and Scotland aged 13 to 82. Other family members stayed in the St George's B & B. The barn is very clean and very well equiped with everything you could need and more.. Sharon the owner was easy to deal with and answered any questions we had. The local pub is great for food and a very easy walk.

Only thing to say is perhaps to provide more coat hangers in the wardrobes and hooks on the backs of doors especially for those rooms without wardrobes.

We found it difficult

Just got home from a weekend with family at Sally's barn, where we celebrated a 60th and a 3rd birthday.

The barn is perfect, the views are amazing and there is plenty to do a short drive or walk away.

Often when you stay in a self catering place, "sleeps 8" means one person is on a sofa bed and there is only enough crockery, cutlery and importantly, wine glasses for 6 people. Sally's Barn has more than enough of everything you need to cook, eat and be merry.

The pictures don't do it justice. The decoration is perfect and everywhere you look there are orna

A lovely holiday home. We stayed in November for a family 90th Birthday party locally. The weather was very misty so didn't see much of the views but on a clear day they are wonderful. The barn is very well appointed with some special features and is very comfortable with plenty of room for all. The oil fired central heating was very efficient and the place was always warm.
