We are a family of four with a dog and found the cottage perfect. We received a detailed email about the cottage and surrounding area

Lovely location and outside area for sitting out (in better weather) our dog loved the enclosed large garden. All facilities in the cottage great. Was really nice to get away in such lovely place and area.

Pepper cottage was lovely and clean and had everything we needed including a hairdryer and was very wheelchair friendly. The cottage more than met our expectations and has been furnished to a very high standard. The owners were extremely helpful, friendly and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, you can tell they genuinely care about the people that stay in their accommodations and want them to have the best experience possible - they even leave a wide selection of games to play. We enjoyed going to the near by places that are all on your doorstep and the amazing views from the cottage.

Stylishly decorated with all the facilities you need in a home from home. Sliding doors off the open plan living accommodation frame a beautiful view of trees and fields. A quiet and peaceful location yet extremely convenient access for visiting some of the Lake District's popular attractions such as Ambleside, Windermere and Tarn Hows.

We spent 5 lovely days at Pepper Cottage.

Location is beautiful - the views from the patio at the back are stunning. The walk to skelworth bridge is idyllic and basically this is a great base for many lovely walks.

Cottage itself is very well equipped. Shower was a great hit! All appliances and facilities were of a high standard and I wonder hesitate to come again or recommend to others.

Thank you al 7 of us (5 people and 2 dogs) had one of best breaks ever.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful week at Pepper Cottage. The property is fabulous, very well appointed, nicely furnished with a gorgeous bathroom and shower room. We were lucky enough to benefit from lovely weather and loved being able to open the bi-fold door onto the patio. We had our 2 spaniels with us and the enclosed garden was perfect for them.

The location was also great, we frequently walked into Hawkshead which is a nice little village with a number of shops, pubs and cafes. Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere are all a short car journey away.

We don’t often return to a holiday rental, it’s a case of “been there, done that” but I’ve no doubt we’ll be back soon.

Giles and Will were both so helpful and provided a great online guide prior to our arrival which told us everything we needed to know about arrival, departure, the property and the area.

This is an exceptional cottage very modern . Clean Really warm amd cosy with lovely views .it has just about everything you need for a comfortable stay . Our only negative was a lack of a coffee table infront of the sofa we found we had to have things on our knee or the floor . The double bed wad really comfortable. We didnt use the second bedroom as there was just the 2 adults and 3 dogs.

A very luxurious bath made our stay very special.. we had got a bit lost when we first arrived but soon found our way about .it is really peaceful and quiete..we would definatly return here

My wife and I booked the cottage for a short break and found the cottage to be really cosy with a Traditional exterior and very modern & comfortable interior which was perfect for us.

Location is set within a very scenic & quiet area not too far away from Ambleside with unspoilt views made even more special whilst sat comfortably together on the corner sofa with the log burner going.

There are numerous scenic walks which can be undertaken from the cottage suitable for all abilities.

We really enjoyed taking our dog out on one of the lake walks followed by a cosy evening in by the fire. The underfloor heating is really nice too so you’ll always be warm when it’s cold outside.

I’d recommend having a bath as you can lay back and enjoy the views of the countryside which is a really great feature of the modern bathroom.

The cottage is equipped with plenty of plates, cups, cooking utensils etc making it easy to cook so you’ll feel right at home. The shops are only a short drive away too.

I’d highly recommend Pepper Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet break to get away from it all.

We like staying in different cottages. . This is a definite return to cottage. Absolutely fantastic, beautiful, clean, it is as big, if not bigger than the pictures. Our dogs loved it, the underfloor heating, all facilities thought of. Lovely hosts just a text away. Best cottage I’ve stayed in.

Pepper Cottage is one of the nicest holiday cottages I’ve stayed in. Very high spec fixtures and fittings and very well equipped. It’s in a beautiful location but a car is essential. Parking on the driveway for two cars is a little awkward and quite narrow.

The cottage is absolutely stunning as is the location. Very clean and well equipped. Furniture and beds are comfortable, lovely duvets and pillows. Plenty of seating areas outside. The garden is almost totally enclosed just a few gaps at the front where dogs could escape but on the whole perfect.Good walks from the cottage. I would definitely recommend Pepper cottage :)

The Lake District is hard to beat if you want to holiday with your dog(s) and Pepper Cottage ticks every possible box when it comes to location (beautiful scenery, lovely quiet area close enough to the convenience of local pubs and shops) and amenities (free wifi, milkman, superb quality throughout, wheelchair accessible and dog friendly). Best part is sitting on the patio on a sunny July evening with a BBQ and a few drinks soaking up the amazing countryside. Our entire party were all left gobsmacked and feeling lucky to have discovered such a gem of a place to stay. Brilliant!

We stayed in pepper cottage for our first visit to the lake district and it certainly did not dissapoint! The cottage is very modern, clean and comfortable with stunning views. The garden is a perfect viewing point for the local scenary and was perfect for our dog too. The owners were on hand if we needed them (which we didnt) but they made a courtesy call on our first night to ensure that we had arrived safely. There is the added benefit of the local milkman providng a list of produce that they can deliver in the morning if needed. We will definitely be returning for another visit!

Pepper Cottage is a fantastic place to stay while visiting the Lake District. Its location is really beautiful (with lovely views) and central, giving easy access to Hawkshead, Ambleside and Coniston. The cottage is very comfortable and warm, and extremely clean, and the surrounding enclosed garden was perfect for our little dog. Will and Giles were super friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed a three night stay at Pepper Cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean with towels, tea towel, oven gloves, dish cloth, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets provided. The bed linen, duvets and pillows were of a high quality and the beds were very comfortable. It is situated in a lovely quiet hamlet with fabulous open views to the rear. We found it very convenient for many local walks. We also visited the Outgate Inn and the Drunken Duck which can both be recommended. We would definitely return to the cottage and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Our party consisted of my husband & our 2 daughters (they came for the weekend)

We regularly visited Pepper Cottage over a period of 13 years, on occasion we were there twice year with the previous owners so we knew the layout of the cottage.. When we arrived at the "new" Pepper Cottage, our first impression was "Wow" It was hard to believe it was the same cottage, the feeling of space was amazing. The new owners had obviously spent a great deal of time & money completely refurbishing, the whole house. It has been completely modernised to a very high standard. The greatest surprise was by the addition of an luxurious en-suite, which was previously the "boiler room "

I would strongly like to add the Coley family were very helpful, in that if we had any problems they attended to our queries promptly.

The greatest compliment we could give Pepper Cottage is we are already planning our 2017 holiday at Pepper Cottage
