Number Three, 3 Raeburn Mews, Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH4 1RG

Description of the self catering property

Number Three is a little terraced house in a mews courtyard in Stockbridge, a popular residential district of Edinburgh about 15 minutes walk from Princes Street. On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen with peninsular and two stools for casual dining, a shower room and dressing room with lots of wardrobe space. Upstairs is a spacious studio carpeted in soft yellow with a double bed, dining table and chairs and two sofas, plus flat screen TV. It's a little house, but immaculately maintained, light and bright, with big windows, crisp white paintwork and lots of pale wood. Per night prices start from £72 (minimum stay three nights). For more information and to check availability and book online, please visit www.embracescotland.co.uk/numberthree, or phone or email me direct.

Best Features

You can arrive on any day, which makes Number Three really handy for a short break or if you want to travel outside busy weekend times. The private parking space at the door is a plus if you come by car. You're close to the city centre (15 minutes walk or buses within two minutes walk) yet getting a taste of a real city neighbourhood rather than a tourist location. The green spaces of Inverleith Park, Edinburgh Botanic Gardens and the Water of Leith walkway are nearby, and are lovely peaceful places to relax after a lot of city sightseeing. Stockbridge is full of independent shops, and there are great places to eat within a few minutes walk.

This was our second visit of Number Three and again it was fantastic! The way things are organised feels like coming home. Maps and the latest guides of the city are available and so is wifi. Parking space in the front was very convenience to us, especially because we love to take things from the city to the Netherlands, food included. We love to eat our own food which was not a problem at all, everything needed was provided. But also very nice gastro pub and coffee house around the corner. Margaret looks after the place with love, we could feel that.

I don't normally go online and do reviews, but this is a must. We had our second visit to Number Three in January this year. It is absolutely super accommodation. On both visits, Number Three was beautifully clean and very well equipped. Everything has been thought of, there was even the added touch of fresh flowers at the top of the stairs. Number Three is perfect for a stay in Edinburgh and on both occasions we had a super weekend in Scotland's capital. You are in easy walking distance of the city centre, but there is also a frequent bus service.

This is a compact, beautifully organised little home. I spent two weeks here and was very comfortable. It is only 20 mins walk from the city centre, close to the gardens and has great local shops and restaurants, there is a local swimming pool and a river walk just minutes away. I was welcomed with a tea tray and local biscuits and a vase of fresh flowers. There is no washing machine but the local laundry is excellent value and I managed to pick up a wifi connection through a bt hotspot.

Number 3 is a lovely little house. It's clean and homely. We felt right at home. lots of useful information on the house and area was included. This made our stay stress free and relaxing.

There's lots of shops and restaurants close by. It's easy to walk into Edinburgh (just be prepared for a few hills). If I visit Edinburgh again I will definitely try to stay at Raeburn Mews.

My only suggestion would be to consider including wifi. Personally I would be prepared to pay extra for this as the price of the accommodation is great value for money.

We have stayed at Number 3 on numerous occasions over the past few years and have always enjoyed our visits. The cottage is spotlessly clean and the facilities are excellent. Stocksbridge is an ideal location with a variety of restaurants in the area. The centre of Edinburgh is easilu accessed, either by walking or public transport. We would certainly recommend Number 3.

The house is small, comfortable and well set out. The mews is quiet but it only takes a minute to be in the Stockbridge area where shops and cafes abound. It is a perfect base for getting around. You can feel as if you belong to the community - even more so with repeat visits. The view is restricted but intriguing - the top of a colourful sports pavilion showing above the roofs. opposite.

Overall it feels safe and comfortable.

Make up of party:  Mostly one but with overnight visits from one other family member. Other visits solo.
