Best Features

Situated on a 17th century working farm our self-catering cottages in Dorset have been carefully restored from an old barn and farm buildings. They comprise a barn conversion and four cottages, along with stable and a games room, surrounding a courtyard featuring a rill culminating in a small wildlife pond. The cottages are finished to a high standard, suitable for year round occupancy, and furnished with all the required facilities for daily living. The setting is very peaceful, being in a valley amongst the rolling hills of West Dorset, yet only a short distance to the village with its local amenities of shop, post office and pub. There is plenty to do in the area, including walks from the door, to visits to stately homes, gardens, exploring the Jurassic coast and the many historic towns and villages.

Cottage Review:

This cottage was truly lovely. Far better than we had imagined it would be! The property is clean and well cared for and caters very well for dog owners like ourselves.

As long as fields with livestock were avoided, we were able to walk our dogs wherever we wished on the farm.

It is a working farm and you must expect some noise ( but very little actually) dependant on the season and some farm smells.

There is a good games room on site and the excellent Admiral Hood in Mosterton, around 5 mins drive away, along with a very good village shop selling wonderful sausages, bacon and ham!

The cottage is fully equipped and, if you need anything, the owners are quick to respond.

Not only would we be happy to return - we can hardly wait!

Cottage Review:

We stayed with friends in three of the cottages in this glorious spot; despite the weather, we went for long walks with the dogs and explored the locality. The cottages were very comfortable and well fitted out. We also appreciated the generosity of no additional expenses for heating and water and the fact that the dogs were not a problem with the floor coverings.

Make up of party:  We had three cottages in a row between three couples and were able to easily eat together in the middle cottage.
