Description of the cottage holiday
Lochend exudes an air of peace and tranquillity in its remote location on the shores of Loch a’ Mhuilinn. with lovely views across the Sound to the islands of Skye, Raasay and Rona. Lochend Cottage has no near neighbours, yet is just a 10-minute walk to the sandy beach and civilised gastronomic offerings of Applecross, This centrally heated, traditional stone-built Scottish cottage has been thoroughly restored and modernised to offer a warm and comfortable self-catering accommodation for 2 guests. It offers a sitting room/diner with multi-fuelled stove to augment the central heating in deep winter and a good-sized double bedroom with king-sized 4-poster bed and views across the loch and sea to the Isle of Sky. The kitchen is well-equipped an includes a washing machine, microwave, electric oven, fridge, freezer and all other home-from-home culinary equipment. The bathroom offers a bath with overhead shower, basin with mirror light and WC. The cottage sits within a low-walled garden, facing the sunsets and has good sized lawns, shrubs, a terrace with dining furniture and BBQ. Leave out some bread and jam in the evening and wait for the pine martin to appear for tea! Loch a’ Mhuilinn, is noted for its rare flora and fauna including many rare orchids. Local wildlife includes eagles, eider ducks, Whooper swans, seals and otters.Best Features
Leave some bread and jam on the patio in the evening and watch the local pine martin come for tea through the lounge windows. There is also an otter, which visit the loch.
