The cottage was very comfortable and cosy and situated in a lovely village. Places of interest like Chatsworth and Haddon Hall were very close by. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Very enjoyable stay at Jasmine Cottage. Winster is a pretty village with a good shop selling most of the essentials. Plenty of walks to be had from the cottage, negating the need to use your car. The large newly furbished bathroom - with both roll top bath and walk in shower - was clean and well equipped. A relaxing place to stay.

Cosy and comfortable cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay, and a base for some good local walking. The cottage has plenty of character, including low beams and some steep narrow steps to the top floor bedroom. Unfortunately the closest pub (Bowling Green) recommended by everyone had very limited opening hours, particularly for food, so we didn't manage to actually get a meal there - but the Miners Standard pub also in the village was very good and still close enough to walk, once you figured out where it was! Parking is very limited so be ready for a walk from the car, up and down some steep hills.

Thank you for taking the time to review the cottage. We also feel that it is shame that the Bowling Green pub is not open as often as it could. A map to both pubs is in the guest information folder. It is possible to stop right outside of the cottage for loading and unloading (if there is not one of the very close parking spaces available).

Wonderful cottage in a splendid location. Very clean, comfy and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage in a beautiful village; it was a starting point to some lovely places to visit and a great place to return to. The bathroom is a dream (my wife wants one just the same now!). Thank you to Marion for permitting us to visit and to her cleaning staff for keeping the cottage so tidy and clean.

Thank you. We are very glad that you liked the new bathroom. Nine Ladies is just one of several stone circles in the Peak District. It can be a challenge to find but is in a lovely spot when you do get there!

Cottage Review:

We spent 10 nights in this old lead miners cottage - and loved it! Yes the ceilings are low (we are very tall - so there was some swearing as heads hit beams!) but we wanted character! The gorgeous huge open fire was lit every night. We loved the central heating especially as the snow arrived - washing was made easy and all washing supplies were provided for. The bedrooms were really big and the bedding and towels really lovely. We even had a dressing room! The addition of a shower rail and curtain and a wall mounted shower arm would be a really good idea - but we got used to having baths in the big corner bath! The kitchen and dining area are lovely and we loved the crockery. The parking can be an issue but we managed to get a spot most nights outside the cottage. The local store has absolutely everything - you can do your whole shop there rather than at the supermarket. We would highly recommend.

Cottage Review:

Very clean, pretty cottage in lovely old village. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds in spacious bedrooms. The double bedroom is galleried which means the second floor has an open plan feel to it. Stairs to the upper bedroom are steep and narrow which could be difficult if you had any mobility problems, but I felt they added to the charm of the cottage. There was a rather strange lighting configuration downstairs but it was well explained in the information book from the owners. Open fire with logs provided added to the cosy feel of the large lounge and the owners kindly suppy plenty of loo rolls for your stay. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property.

We had another lovely long weekend at Jasmine Cottage. This time we took our grown up children and our two small dogs with us too. The cottage is like home from home with everything you need to have a lovley break in stunning scenery. We ate at two local pubs which were both very good. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Jasmin Cottage, you will not be dissapointed

Cottage Review:

This was a lovely charming cottage in the quaint village of Winster. It is well equipped with everything you could need, a real home from home!! There is a lovely warm real fire in the sitting room and all the things you could need to sit back and relax and take life easy. The village shop is well stocked for essentials and there is a warm welcome for you in the pub across the road. The Druids Inn nearby does delicious meals and is a good walk away. All in all this is a great place to stay. Only thing we thought could improve things would be to have a proper shower in the bathroom. There is a hand held shower at the moment. The double bedroom is seperated by a curtain from the staircase so privacy may be an issue to some people, however this was not a problem to us. We shared the cottage with some friends for a long weekend and had a fabulous time, we hope to visit again.

Jasmine Cottage is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage, with plenty of space for 4 people. It has real charm and the location in Winster is very peaceful and attractive. It was a fantastic base for exploring the Peaks. We had some wonderfully cosy evenings playing games and watching films with the fire roaring.
