Cottage Review:

We have had an absolutely perfect holiday at Grooms Cottage. The cottage was spotless and very well looked after, there is everything you could ever need, especially in the kitchen, every utensil you could ever need, even had colour coded chopping boards.. Lounge has 2 nice comfy sofas and a good size TV. Beds were very comfy. Benefits from having both a bath and shower. Enclosed garden outside with a brand new BBQ. Set in further lovely tranquil frounds. We could not find a single fault with the property at all...it?s fabulous ..and we will certainly return when we can. The location is quite remote and a car is needed to get around the area but we knew that before arriving and was one of the reasons we chose it. It is easy to get to loads of different places such as Edinburgh, North Berwick ( lovely little fishing town), Holy Island, Eyemouth to name a few. Most relaxed holiday we've had in ages... We would highly recommend grooms cottage to anyone. Thank you Liz, we hope to see you again soon.

Friendly welcome by the owner on our arrival. Complimentary bottle of wine provided. Not intrusive during our stay but we were advised who best to contact if there were any problems, location of doctors etc and good pubs and restaurants. The property itself was very clean and provided everything necessary to make our stay comfortable. Somewhat isolated but that suited us as we wanted a peaceful location and there was a long quiet lane across the main road which was perfect for walking the dog off its lead. Surrounding towns were easily accessed by car a

Cottage Review:

This is a lovely cottage situated in the grounds of an old courtyard. It's really lovely and quiet, and it provides easy access to the coast both in Scotland and England.

There's some lovely quiet roads around, and an amazing pub in nearby Paxton.

The only slight issue I had with the place was the noisy floorboards. If you needed to get up to the loo in the night it was impossible not to awaken the other half ;-)

the cottage was perfect for our break in the borders. the home made bread and wine which was left for us was very welcome and much enjoyed. the area was better than we anticipated and would certainly come back here. it was ideal for our dog as well. really enjoyed this break.
