The Old Piggery , Mill Lane , East Ruston , Norfolk , NR12 9HS

Description of the self catering property
Very dog friendly converted old piggery in rural Norfolk. Other dog friendly properties on the website. In a very peaceful setting and close to lovely sandy beaches and the Norfolk Broads.

Accommodation: All on one level, airy and open plan living and kitchen area, 3 bedrooms, (one with en-suite shower room) bathroom and enclosed yard outside. Under floor heating keeps it cosy in the coldest weather and the wood burning stove even more so!

Location: Very peaceful rural location, close to quiet sandy beaches, the Norfolk Broads and only half an hour to Norwich.

Dog friendly: We are very dog friendly with lots of special touches for dogs - home made biscuits, throws, bowls, holiday collars etc. Walks can start from the door as the Piggery is at the bottom of a bridlepath.

Best Features
Our best bits? We are super dog friendly! No limit and no charge. But don't think that makes the place 'doggy' - far from it. Many of our guests comment that you wouldn't know dogs have stayed there. There is pamment flooring throughout (so easy to clean) which is heated from beneath. The furnishings are simple and fresh - pine and peaceful colours - plenty of photos on the website.

The location is another best bit. So quiet. East Ruston is a very spread out rural village with lots of tracks and quiet lanes. The Weavers Way walk runs through the village and you can walk to the coast in about half an hour. And if you like gardens, the internationally famous East Ruston Old Vicarage is next door but one!

Plenty of sandy, dog friendly and very quiet beaches are within a few minutes drive as are Witton Woods - ideal for walking.

If you want some culture and history and shopping and great restaurants then the wonderful city of Norwich is 30 minutes drive away. Plenty of other little Norfolk towns and villages are well worth a visit too.

If the Piggery is full when you look then there are 3 other properties on the website - all dog friendly.

If you need further convincing take a look at the guest book on the website. Every single comment since we opened is on there, in full. Hope to see you soon!

Cottage Review:   Delightful beautifully equipped cottage, which felt like home from home - except the bed was more comfortable and larger, and the shower better! Glorious remote location, peaceful and relaxing, but not too far away that a Sainsbury's shop could be delivered and Sue unpacked it for us. Totally dog friendly, which is so so nice, for multidog households. Can't wait to go back, in the summer please!
Make up of party:  Me and my husband, and our 3 dogs, a JRT, and two daxi crosses, so if it is secure enough for my Jack Russell, it is secure enough for any one I reckon.

Cottage Review:   In a quiet rural setting the Old Piggery is the ideal place to relax with your dogs, the accommodation is comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked, there is a cosy wood burner for the colder nights and TV DVD with surround sound. Local beach is also dog friendly. The only reason I haven't gone back is that I fell in love with the area and moved in down the road!
