We had a wonderful week at The Big Oak Barn. The accommodation is first class with large, comfortable rooms. The whole family enjoyed the wonderful outdoor space. There's a large garden with interesting seating areas and two paddocks for playing games/walking/running. The owners are helpful, interesting and friendly. The village is a hidden gem and the old-style pub, about 500 yards from the property, serves good food and has an excellent take-away menu. The property is situated within easy driving distance of Bath, Glastonbury, Wells, Wookey Hole and other places of interest. There's a great open-air swimming pool in nearby Street, which is also the venue of Clarks Village shopping outlet. Would love to visit this property again.

Nice property. But overrated, it definitely wasn't 5* quality. It is freshly decorated, but wasn't very clean. The cobwebs and spiders in property were everywhere and though I appreciate it is a barn in a farm so will get creepy crawlies, seeing as someone vacated at 10am for us to arrive at 5.30pm and it was freshly cleaned there was lots of obvious webs and spiders missed, flies, fly poo, dust etc round every window, the bath was full of dust it wasn't very well cleaned. There was signs everywhere stating the obvious which I found quite condescending. E.g. to make sure you tie the bin bag before you put it in the big bin, don't put oil down drains. The fridge had a broken handle which kept catching our hands, the curtains had huge tears in, the animal rugs had alot of tears, alot of the crockery had chips in, the bbq wasn't cleaned, no hand-wash, toilet rolls, milk etc provided.

The location is OK but quite a distance from alot of things, you would need to drive anywhere.

There are puppies on the grounds kept in kennels which are let out VERY early which is really noisy. The cow and sheep noise I expected as its a farm but wasn't expecting the loud dog noise.

Overall the property is ok, but definitely not the standard expected and no where close to 5*

Lovely clean property but a few things to note. The wood burner looks lovely in the brochure but we were not actually allowed to use it. The sound proofing is not good so can hear cows outside as well as all others in the property. No welcome milk/tea/coffee etc provided. Animal skins decorate the property which was not to our taste [Added at Editor's discretion since it appears to be a helpful review and the reviewer has been authenticated]
