Description of the holiday cottage |
If you are seeking the tranquility of Orkney this self catering accomodation is the place for you. From the comfort of the lounge enjoy the views across Scapa Flow. The Annexe is a separate residence adjoining the owner's bungalow. The comfortable lounge has two settees, electric fire, oil central heating, wide screen t. v, freeview box, dvd player as well as numerous books, maps and information guides for you to use during your stay. At the fasr end of the lounge is the dining table with spectacular views across the sea. All heating and lighting are included.
The Annexe comfortably sleeps four people in two bedrooms. One room has a double bed, the other has two singles. All bed linen is supplied.
There is a good sized shower room with large walk in shower, w. c and wash hand basin. All towels are provided. Complimentary toiletries are there for you to try.
The kitchen is large, modern, decorated and equipped to a high standard and has sea views. It has a breakfast bar, large fridge/freezer, microwave,dishwasher, ceramic hob and cooker. There will be a starter pack waiting your arrival. It will include a few Orkney specialities as well as bread, eggs from our neighbour, butter, milk, a couple of dishwasher and laundry tablets etc. Tea towels and dishcloths are provided.
There is a washer and drier available should you wish to use it.
Outside there is a garden area with seating for you to take in the fesh sea air. There is your own parking space and washing line.
The village shop, restaurant and pub are just a mile and a half away. The local bus route is a mile away.

Best Features |
| The Annexe at Waaness is set in spectacular surroundings. It is very quiet, nowhere near a main road. It is at a point of land( Ness) overlooking the sea, Scapa Flow. The sunsets and rises are wonderful. We are very lucky with the wildlife. Apart from the abundance of sea birds we were lucky enought to have had visits from pods of dolphins, a basking shark and this year three whales. Of course there are rabbits,hedgehogs, sheep and the beautiful highland cattle on the farm next door, the babies are gorgeous! A lovely setting for a holiday. |
