Set in the heart of the countryside, this is a stonebuilt detached converted barn, with all modern facilities. It is suitable for four people. It comprises two berooms both with ensuite bathing arrangements. Bedroom 1 has a fourposter double bed and ensuite shower/WC. Bedroom 2 is twinbedded with ensuitebath,WC and separate shower cubicle.
On the ground floor is a large lounge with wood burner set in a feature fireplace; remote control TV, DVD player, and CD player. There is a further shower room/WC, and a kichen/diner. All these rooms are accessed via doors leading from an entrance hall.
The kitchen/diner is a modern, stone-tiled room. It contains a washing machine, dishwasher,fridge-freezer,electric oven and four-ringed electric hob. The oilfired centralheating boiler is also in the kitchen as are pine dining table and chairs.
Doors from the lounge and kitchen lead to the enclosed rear garden which is partly paved and partly laid to stone chippings with some shrubs and ornimentation. There is a patio suite, parasol and barbecue.

Best Features
This property is situated on the edge of the Wye valley AONB with outstanding views over the immediate countryside and to the Welsh hills. It is in a secluded position, surrounded by working farmland. Wild life such as buzzards, hares, owls are in evidence and deer are from time to time seen.
Careful restoration has been carried out to preserve the barn's character whist providing the expected modern comforts.
Its position makes it an ideal choice for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, and Monmouthshire.
The neaest shopping facility is Coleford which is about two miles away and contains all the shops necessary for basic living, including banks, supermarkets, cafes, newsagents, hardware and doctors surgery. The bigger centres, such as Cardiff,Cheltenham and Gloucester are about an hour away.

There are many footpaths in the area to explore, and some visitors have brought or hired bikes to tour the area.

Tintern Abbey, several border castles, Puzzle Wood, Clearwell Caves, and Hopewell Colliery are among the many places of interest nearby.

Cottage Review:   Rookery Barn is a warm and very well equiped holiday cottage with plenty of space. The barn is set in beautiful countryside, very quiet and tranquil. It is close to the Forest of Dean and there are walking trails from the front door of the barn. Great place to get away from it all, but activities, shops and restaurants are within easy reach but you will need a car.

Cottage Review:   Very well equipped property with plenty of space and in an idyllic location. Views tremendous and very peaceful though within easy reach of necessary facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed our week away and would recommend the cottage to small or larger groups.
