Description of the holiday cottage
PineCone Cottage is a charming single storey Victorian holiday home located in the heart of the Cotswolds. Believed to date back to the 1800’s, this handsome Cotswold stone cottage has been tastefully converted from the stables of the adjoining Grade II listed 17th Century house. Located within the rural hamlet of Whelford, Gloucestershire, this well equipped cottage makes an ideal retreat for any Cotswold country holiday. PineCone Cottage is close to the ancient woollen town of Fairford, with it's 15th century church famous for it's stained glass windows, and home to the Royal International Air Tattoo. A short 5 minute drive will take you to historic Lechlade-upon-Thames or visit the Roman town of Cirencester – capital of the Cotswolds. Also close by are the regency town of Cheltenham, the Cathedral cities of Gloucester, Worcester and Oxford, and the city of Bath with its beautiful Abbey and Roman baths. Other local places of interest include the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Westonbirt Arboretum and the award winning Cotswold Water Parks. With walking, cycle paths, fishing, boating and water sports all available from the doorstep, this delightful holiday home is ideally located for guests wishing to explore a region rich in history and scenic beauty.

Cottage Review: A beautiful little cottage, immaculately clean with lovely owners. There was a welcome hamper on arrival with eggs and other goodies, it's in a pretty and quiet location and easy to get to. Because it is so tidy and well presented you can arrive and just relax - a very lovely place to stay.

Cottage Review: Just stayed in Pine Cone Cottage, Whelford. Very well appointed, super cosy, thoughtfully equipped. A real home from home. Much more spacious than it appears from the outside.
