Cottage Review: This is a comfortable property, if somewhat cramped. A full complement of 9 guests would be very crowded indeed. It is in a pleasant location, beside the path which goes all the way round Carsington Water. Potential visitors should be aware (a) that all roads in the immediate vicinity are single-track only, and (b) mobile phone coverage is very poor. This makes it difficult to communicate with the owners in the event of a problem, and could be critical in an full emergency, as there is no fixed line phone in the property. Other shortcomings, which could all be easily remedied, were:- Kitchen:- Storage space for foodstuffs inadequate. No coffee maker, so bring your own or expect to drink instant. No user instructions for cooker, washing machine or dishwasher. A smoke alarm is fitted here (Yes, in the kitchen! so it had to be temporarily disabled). Bathrooms:- No towel rails fitted. No shelves or racks for toothbrushes, toothpaste etc. Beds:- All beds were equipped with duvets which proved to be too hot in August. TV:- Analogue channels 1-4 were acceptable, but many digital channels were not available, showing instead just the message “NO SIGNAL”.
