Description of the holiday cottage
At Keeper's Cottage, visitors will find very comfortable self catering holiday cottage accommodation for 2 to 4 people in Gillamoor - an unspoiled North York Moors National Park working farm village. The cottage is set in very large grounds with 2 paddocks and an orchard. Being a single holiday home, Keepers Cottage may be the perfect choice for visitors who prefer the seclusion that is often difficult to find on a self catering holiday cottage complex. We are right in the village centre, overlooking the village green and only 50yds from the 'Royal Oak' quiet country pub & restaurant. Keepers Cottage is inspected annually by the English Tourist Council under their Quality Assurance Scheme and this year (2011 - 2012) hold their 4 star rating - visitors may book with complete confidence. We are also members of the Tourism Association North Yorkshire and are in partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire. The family has lived here continuously since 1850. Keepers Cottage is a conversion of the former stable and barn, completed in 1985, retaining many original features, with all rooms on the ground floor.

Cottage Review: This beautiful accommodation, along with lovely friendly owners is an excellent get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Peace and tranquility in a bottle. Sit out in the garden, listen to the birds and daydream your day away or like us seize the best of both worlds a little daydream followed by fabulous walks just waiting on the door step. Then to top it all, after a long walk, what could be more inviting than the local welcoming pub, which serves delicious food and real ales. The pub is virtually a stones throw away. Definitely a hidden gem and great that you can book for a weekend. All four of us (walking friends) thoroughly enjoyed it and hopefully will be back. No local shop in village but other villages are only a 10 minute drive away. Have already recommended to friends on our walking group but maybe a mistake - will we get back again or will it be fully booked?
