Cottage Review:   Wish i had read rewiew before going,as its still the same the garden is shared, the dogs where running loose when we arrived so had to phone to be let in as somebody had already complained in their reveiw about dogs jumping up them, also needs a good clean and does not deserve 4 stars was originally supposed to stay in the other cottage which has 3 stars dread to think what thats like, the only good thing is the location its very quiet with lovely country views, also the cottages are next to each other but the picture looks like they are more private

Cottage Review:   Generally this was a lovely place to stay, if a bit small considering it is supposed to sleep 5 and be suitable for disabled people. The 2 ensuite shower rooms are particularly small and would be quite hard for anyone large or with mobility problems to manouvre round. Additionally, there are some steps that are not mentioned despite the fact that it is classed as ideal for the disabled. The cottage is in a lovely area (not easy to access without a car) and very peaceful. However, I feel the owners let themselves down by neglecting small but important details. The general level of cleanliness was poor. Rugs were grubby (despite being fairly early in the season), there was a lot of dust in the bedrooms, and due to lack of cupboard space there was a lot of clutter in the lounge from irons, mops etc. (some of which appeared to be broken). Worst of all, the ensuites did not appear to have been cleaned at all. There was scum on the sinks and at least 2 of the toilets were heavily soiled with urine and dust. We were provided with only 1 handtowel (for 3 of us) and it was not checked beforehand which bedrooms we would like made up (despite the fact no details were given of who would be occupying the property) leading to not enough beds being made up. We were woken 2 nights running by the smoke detector going off(it needed new batteries). There was a rotary washing line but no pegs. "It is surrounded by its own lawned garden" was not really true, due to it being part of the farm and shared. The farm had 2 dogs that were allowed to run free in the garden (and mess on the lawn) and around the cottages jumping up at guests and trying to get into the accommodation. Although this did not unduly bother us, there was no warning in the cottage details for anyone frail or afraid of dogs it just said the cottages were "near" the farmhouse. The presence of the dogs also meant that there was a gate onto the property that was often shut, which would have been very hard for someone with mobility problems to manouvre. Ignore the details of the "attractive galleried landing" above the sitting room - it was unaccessible and as far as we could see, pointless!
Make up of party:  one single room (with ensuite toilet, sink and shower), one twin room (with ensuite toilet, sink and bath), one double room (with ensuite toilet, sink and shower)
