Cottage Review:   Lovely cosy cottage for a highland getaway ideal for an outdoor adventure or a good relax. But'n'Bens is very well equipped and also has the Danish BBQ hut which is a superb place to chill-out in. Local shops and restaurants are only a mile or so away and the surrounding counrtyside is stunning. Will definitely be back!

Cottage Review:   Our booking of this cottage was based on previous reviews and we are pleased to say that all comments stand true. The cottage is cosy but well equipped. The cottage provided fridge/freezer,diswasher,microwave,washing machine, dryer, dishes, cutlery, iron board, TV, payphone etc. . . you would hardly want for any other items. The place was immaculately clean. The BBQ hut is a must experience. The location felt central for easy access to Ben Nevis, Loch Ness and Craignorm. Mobile phone reception was poor but wifi worked well. My only suggestion ( and this is meant as a supportive critique rather than a negative)is for the bedroom windows to have an additional panel of sound proof glass and darker curtains. The cottage sits on the edge of A82 with regular noisy 60mph vehicles with bright lights which interrupts a morning slumber. Otherwise would highly recommend.

Owner response:
Many thanks for your suggestions. The curtains are on the "to do" list and I am researching into the secondary glazing.

Cottage Review:   We had a great time staying at the But 'n' Ben. It is a very tidy cottage, compact but all that we required. The wow factor is definitely the BBQ hut which I wish we'd used more.

Cottage Review:   The reviews that you may have read regarding this cottage can scarcely do it justice, however, I am going to attempt to do so in this short paragraph! From the location to the facilities, this is simply one of the best holiday lettings I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The level of cleanliness is the highest I have ever experienced, there was not one speck of dust, or missed surface in the entire cottage. Although small (I would expect nothing less for an authentic crofter's cottage!), the property is perfectly proportioned, with an incredibly comfy decor, and so well insulated that it stays warm even on the coldest Scottish nights. A fantastic base to explore an amazing part of the country from, five stars to both the owner, and the accommodation! Cottage Review:   This cottage is fantastic! We had a fantastic time and will be going back again. The location is wonderful and we really couldn't fault the cottage. It is well equipped with everything you could need and finished to a high standard. Unlike some i have stayed in it has a real homely feel and really nice attention to detail, like books about the area, a welcome pack telling you all you need to know. 10/10

Cottage Review:   But n Ben is the perfect holiday location for couples wishing to experience the beautiful Scottish Highlands. We spent a week at the cottage in April and were lucky enough to have fantastic weather to explore the surrounding area. The location is brilliant - not far to Fort William, the Nevis Range, Glen Coe, Loch Ness and the road to the Isle of Skye. Perfect for those wishing to experience the outdoors. The cottage is perfect for two and contains everything you need for a fantastic break. The most delicious chocolate cake awaits you on arrival and fresh eggs are available next door. This cottage has one amazing bonus - the BBQ hut - perfect for a relaxing evening. Would reccommed vension burgers and a nice glass of red wine. A fantastic experience all round and I would and will recommend this place to everyone. We can't wait to return!

Cottage Review:   This is a lovely cottage in a great location with fantastic scenery right on your doorstep. Perfect place to stay for walking, cycling and sightseeing in the surrounding area – Great Glen Way, West Highland Way, Nevis Range and coastline towards Mallaig, as well as numerous picturesque lochs. The cottage is spotlessly clean, with quality fittings and contains everything you need, the storage shed and barbeque hut are great additions. Highly recommended for any couple looking for a cosy retreat at the end of a exhilarating day in the great outdoors.

Cottage Review:   But 'n' Ben is a fantastic cottage for any outdoorsy couples looking for somewhere to retire after days out in the hills. Whilst small, it is immaculately fitted out with absolutely everything you could need in the kitchen, linen and towels provided and a comfy double bed. The adjacent shed is really useful for storing bikes & other gear but in terms of storage space, there is plenty in the main house too. Being on the main road it is easily accessible in all weathers. A great bonus is being able to get fresh eggs from the next door neighbour!

Cottage Review:   A compact cottage, beautifully clean in a wonderfully scenic area with lots to do for all ages. The owners have gone to great lengths to provide everything they think you might need. Though small there is no feeling of being cramped. The adjoining shed holds all your outdoor stuff and moreand the BBQ hut is fantastic, very scandinavian style, much too nice to call a hut.

Cottage Review:   My husband and I spent a wonderful, romantic week at But’n’Ben cottage near Spean Bridge in the Scottish Highlands. The cottage was extremely comfortable and, Jane, the owner went to a great deal of effort to ensure our week was perfect. There was even a freshly baked chocolate cake on our arrival and fresh eggs are available from the hens that roam nearby. The Pièce de résistance however has to be the BBQ hut, which is available for use summer and winter and is great fun. The surrounding area is very beautiful and there is an extensive range of activities very near the cottage such as walking, mountain biking, fishing etc. But’n’Ben cottage really is a special place to spend a romantic holiday.
